Bethany Hoye – new member to the School / CIE

Bethany HoyeDr Bethany Hoye – Postdoctoral Research Fellow – based on the Geelong Campus.

Bethany recently started a post-doctoral fellowship in the CIE , working with Prof Marcel Klaassen.

Within her fellowship she is especially interested in investigating how parasitic infection might modify migratory behaviour and how migration may, in turn, modify susceptibility to infection and disease. Bethany has a general interest in animal migrations, life history strategies, and the influence of these on ecological communities.

Bethany comes to Deakin from a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she worked on within-host community ecology, amphibian immune responses and biodiversity and disease risk.

She is looking forward to working in the CIE, particularly given the wealth of avian ecologists in the centre.

We are very happy to have Bethany with us!
